Written off

CTOs often get “written off.”

I’ve seen it happen many times. A CTO that was very valuable in the first growth stages of a company isn’t “able to deliver anymore.” He “doesn’t have control anymore.”

What’s the solution? “Let’s fire him and find a new CTO.”

It’s SoftwareCaptains mission to not let that happen. I believe that CTOs can deliver and have control, even when the company gets bigger. They might need guidance, they might need coaching, they might need an assessment of where they are and what they need to improve, but they can grow together with their company.
